Stanley Wooley Jr. (AKA President Prodigy Prodigal Protégé) is a poet and musician currently incarcerated at Winfield Correctional in Winfield, KS. His mission is to spread awareness about issues both inside and outside the walls.
“Ignorant to the Law” is a spoken word poem written and performed by Stanley Wooley Jr. This post includes an audio recording from a phone call with Stanley; scans of the poem from Stanley’s notebook that were mailed to Liberation Lit; and a typed transcription of the piece which preserves the formatting of the handwritten version.
They call us ignorant to the court of law synonymous same to illiterate
so the courts docilely calmly are twisting defendants’ arms
less rights that we know that’s the better the courts prejudice us all.
We are excessively treated maliciously by a legal harm deemed by the flawless impeccable upholders of the laws
confined behind barbed wires & fences connected & concreted to anchored cylinder brick daily the convicted count on the depress-filled walls
damaged & mentally injured & legally weakened & crossed by our public defender public working pretender, to the lesser evil to the man slayer prosecutor of the law impairing rights of all
ignorance is not an excuse is what the court practice and religiously preach strong legally educated prey on the law uneducated weak
we are the many ill-advised & uninformed not aware & unaware so it makes us seem illiterate the bottom line synonym true meaning of ignorant
it must be truly ignorant for the educated to and for the law to discriminate our flaws.
Cause to the law we are realistically labeled and viewed illiterate unable to read or write so we lose all our legal fights
courts overpower prejudice & misjudge & undermine countless incoherent incompetent victims who don’t understand our rights
to the city, county & state we are food for their crooked dinner plates
just a poster child jailed created in minutes a.k.a. villains just to make millions
society’s ignominy plain english humiliating us publicly cause we are viewed as uncivil according to illogical laws hurtin the people we you & me hysterectomy to vote for the community
so it’s unequivocal long word for clear, ignorance to the law humans are men enslaved by the courts deceived and man-devised legal discrimination in our eyes
N this is by the educated human power; slaying impecunious lives to us we the poor-indigent-stricken people
malignant legal reality highly injurious and prejudice to you and me
a lot of big words explaining minor things circumlocuting you and me in the land & the home of the free
courts dance around a direct question answering inadvertantly prevarication is what is happening
this wrong-doing is called malfeasance formed together as a harmonious legal sound of decent fecal matter treatment
cause to the law we are ignorant unmistakable it’s clear so question this discrimination when they call it legal ignorance
